TLDR; Hemp products (>0.3%THC) are now restricted to 21+ and have better testing requirements.
What is happening in TN?
Congress passed the 2018 Farm Bill which authorized the production
of hemp and removed hemp and hemp seeds from the Drug Enforcement Administration's (DEA) schedule of Controlled Substances list. This left the states to enforce specific laws around hemp on a state by state basis. Tennessee had not put in specific regulations after the passing of this bill. This left hemp products unregulated in the state which left room for problems to arise.
Tennessee SB378:
This new bill regulates hemp products in the state of Tennessee. The main changes that it made was to require a license to sell hemp products, require 3rd party testing, and require consumers to provide proof of being 21+. The main benefits of this bill are to protect children and to make sure consumers are getting legitimate products.
Where are we going?
In the next couple of years, we are hoping to see full legalization in the state of Tennessee. This would open the door for expansion of our brand to include higher percentage delta 9 products. Until then, we will continue to serve you the highest quality hemp products that consistently enhance your life.
